Finyvo · Refunds

A purchase returned. Spending kept accurate.

Link a refund to its purchase and reflect the reduction in spending without confusing it with earned income.

A 120 USD purchase and its partial 30 USD refund, linked in Finyvo’s real interface.

Money returned, spending reduced.

A purchase refund is different from a salary or new income. Recording it as a refund lets Finyvo reflect that part of your spending came back.

Linking it to the original purchase helps attribute the refund according to that purchase, making category spending easier to understand.

For example, a 120 USD purchase with a 30 USD partial refund leaves 90 USD in net spending. Same currency and reporting period. The refund reduces spending; it does not add 30 USD to earned income.

Record the refund with its context.

  1. Create a refund

Choose Refund as the transaction type. Check the wallet, date and amount received.

  2. Link the purchase

Use the refund link to select the original purchase and assign the amount being returned.

  3. Check the result

Review the saved relationship and net spending for the period. Dates and the original category matter when interpreting the report.

Partial refunds work too.

Record a full refund, part of a purchase or multiple refunds linked to it. Check the amount assigned to each link so you do not attribute a refund twice.

In the example, a 120 USD purchase and a 30 USD refund leave 90 USD in net spending in the same period. For other periods, consider the dates of both transactions.

If you cannot find the original purchase.

An unlinked refund can reduce overall spending without being attributed to a specific category in the same way. Add the relationship when you have the information.
