Getting started

Do I need to create an account?
No. Finyvo works with no account. All your data lives on your iPhone with SwiftData. There's no sign-up, no email, no bank onboarding.

How do I start using Finyvo?
Download the app, open the onboarding and log your first transaction. It comes with 13 categories and 9 tags ready to use, with nothing to set up.

Does it work offline?
Yes, almost everything. You only need internet for exchange rates (every 6 hours in the background), logo lookup and AI features. The rest lives on your iPhone: transactions, budgets, goals and reports.
Privacy and data

Can you see my financial data?
No. Your transactions, wallets, budgets and goals never leave your device. We only send text, with no amounts or IDs, to the backend when you use the optional AI.

What data travels to the api.finyvo.com backend?
Currency codes (for FX rates), brand names (for logos) and description text when you use AI features. Never your amounts, balances, account identifiers or personal information.

Do you use iCloud to sync?
No. The app explicitly disables CloudKit (cloudKitDatabase: .none). Your data lives only on your device. If you need a backup, use the operating system's iCloud Backup.

Is there a user account or login?
No. Finyvo has no account system. The token the app uses to talk to the backend is the same for every install and does not identify you.
Wallets, currencies and categories

Do you support my currency?
Almost certainly. There are 90+ currencies with up-to-date rates every 6 hours, and it includes all the LATAM ones (DOP, MXN, COP, ARS, BRL, CLP, PEN, UYU, etc.) plus USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD and more.

Where do the exchange rates come from?
From exchangerate.host, through our backend. They are reference rates for visual conversion, not suitable for trading. They update every 6 hours and are cached for 24 hours.

How many wallets can I have on Free?
Up to 2 active wallets on the Free plan. With Plus they are unlimited. Archived wallets don't count toward the limit.

Can I create my own categories?
Yes. On Free you can create 1 custom category group with up to 2 children. On Plus, unlimited.
Intelligence (AI)

What exactly does the AI do?
It categorizes transactions automatically, searches in natural language (“expenses over 2,000 this month”), normalizes cryptic bank names (“WHLFDS*12345” becomes “Whole Foods Market”) and suggests smart tags.

Can I turn off the AI?
Yes. AI features are optional and only run when you invoke them (when you tap “Search with AI”, when you save a transaction, etc.). If you never use them, no text is sent to the backend.

Are my transactions used to train models?
No. OpenAI, our current provider, retains API data for up to 30 days for abuse detection, but does not use it for training. And we never send amounts, account IDs or personal information.

How many AI requests do I get?
50 per month on Free, with no monthly cap on Plus.
Finyvo Plus

How do I cancel Finyvo Plus?
From iPhone Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → Finyvo Plus → Cancel. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Subscription management is 100% through Apple.

Is there a refund?
Refunds are processed by Apple, not Finyvo. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Does Family Sharing work?
Yes. If you have Family Sharing set up on your Apple ID, up to 6 members can share the Plus subscription from their own instances of the app, at no extra cost. Data is not shared between members: everyone keeps their information on their own device.

If I let Plus expire, do I lose my data?
No. Your data is kept in full. You return to the Free plan and some features become limited. For example, if you had 5 active wallets on Plus, they all stay there, but you won't be able to create new ones until you archive and drop down to 2.

When will it be available for Android?
For now we're focused on iOS to make it flawless. Android is planned, with no public date yet.

Can I export my data?
Plus includes PDF export of reports. Full CSV export is planned for an upcoming version.

How do I report a bug or suggestion?
Write to us at [email protected] with as much detail as possible: what you were doing, what you expected and what happened. If you can, attach screenshots, they help a lot.
